Reviews for this release

no problems with multiple upgrades except those upgrading from version 7.1.2 or lower (Seems all have an error upgrading to 7.2 and 7.2.1) , love the community contributions list!!! Looks like a stab at the captcha... sure seems like the DNN FEEDBACK module has one more advanced than this one... maybe look at it? It has settings for amount of noise and so on... and I dont see a way to refresh the captcha if you can't make it out... because it is pretty easy to make it out I am guessing. However I did get a IP Address this time (France) maybe a hi-jacked PC however banned the entire subnet through the server firewall. Update: IP put a large number of registration errors on my website... maybe it is working??? blew my event log up...

Two upgrades without any problems.

Upgrading from 07.02.02 to 07.03.02. Unzipped upgrade files and uploaded via FTP. Enter Superuser name and password and site upgrade status bar goes to 100% almost instantaneously but clicking the "Visit Site" button only returns me to the beginning Upgrade Wizard screen asking for Superuser name and password.

we have one or two similar reports, can you let me know what browser you're using (2 reports stated it's an IE8 issue) - note: you can work around this by calling http://MYWEBSITE/install/install.aspx?mode=upgrade.

Inserting images (HTML Module) in IE11 is not working only for me? ¶ Thanks, cathalconnolly. I will try to use the following workaround: <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=10" />
by kpolkovnikov on Aug 18, 2014 at 3:46 AM
it's a known issue caused by IE11 dropping support for a number of pieces of javascript used in by telerik ( - we plan on working on a fix for this in the next release, but the easy work around is to use any other browser except IE11

After the upgrade error: The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.

Using Firefox, unable to edit content. Edit Content box is blank.
by pdickinson on Sep 22, 2014 at 2:14 AM
we have no reports of similar issues (I also use firefox on a daily basis), so it would suggest it's local to your install. I would suggest that you do a CTRL+F5 in case you have some corrupt/old javascript or css - if you are using a custom skin try changing to a default one such as Gravity to see if the problem is with your skin

Works well for production websites that require complex SEO-friendly multi-portal features, and uses the powerful .NET Framework. It has some rough edges, though, and clearly requires third party modules to make it shine. Use a nice open source template like HammerFlex and be sure to download the free Content Injection Module.

After enable "Use Captcha" you show in Log in page, but "Use CAPTCHA For Associating Logins" not checked. Captcha check boxes in Admin > Site settings > User Account Settings not working. Check > Update but showing not checked.

upgrading from to 7.03.02 - had initial problem with upgrade screen stuck on 0% - turned out I had not given IIS_IUSRS group the correct permissions on the DNN folder. After successful completion sites and modules appear to be working fine apart from one annoying usability issue : The Telerik HTML Editor greys out the edit input box on mouse over with IE11 in Rich Text Mode - this is confusing for the user and does not happen in Chrome !

Upgrade without issue from 7.2.1. Not sure the Captcha issue is really resolved. Still getting a lot of bogus user registrations from all over the place. Since the site is private they cannot really do anything, but it's annoying to have to continue deleting accounts daily. And they fill the event log with junk trying to access their user profile page. Is there a way to confirm the new Captcha changes have been applied and working?

Six sites upgraded from .2 ~ all went well. Excellent - thank you.

Haven't had any problems, and all installs/upgrades have gone smoothly. Will continue to test. Kudos, folks!

I upgraded from 07.02.00. First I ran the upgrade on a dev site then successfully upgraded three others.
by kylejhagel on Aug 18, 2014 at 7:39 PM
Site Settings throw an exception that AdvanceUrl can not be added with multiple id. Page Management have similar issue with linq. This is a vanilla version that I am testing and not our site yet. Common DNN ship a stable version

2x installed a totally clean DNN 7.3.2 install. 2x the same errors: when activating localized content: site settings -> doesn't save the favicon, doesn't save the skin, 50% of the settings it doesn't save. sitemap.aspx only works in 1 language???? since DNN 5, the sitemap.aspx isn't working correctly when activating localized content.. anyone? help?? please?
by thur_007 on Sep 1, 2014 at 8:27 PM
I believe that will fix that (issue introduced in 7.3.2 will be fixed in 7.3.3)
Reply by cathalconnolly (N/A) on Sep 3, 2014 at 3:19 PM
New install of 7.3.2 installed with no installation issues on Windows Server 2008 R2 x64. However issues with default skin results in RibbonBar always inserting Banner modules regardless of the module selected to add. Also many portal and host settings refuse to save. Only setting changes are HumanFriendly and RibbonBar which are required on our sites. These issues prevent 7.3.2 to be implemented. We hoped that this release could be used to help with false registrations that continue to increase! Cathal - tried to create an account in tracker but get this response! "The email address provided is not from an allowed domain." Update: 31 August 2014 - issue with tracker is marked as closed, however still unable to register to raise issues!

please log this to so we can review and work on it - edit: Technica, got your email and checked and it's a recent jira issue, hopefully will be fixed quickly

still bad performance as 7.3.2 (and not 7.3.1)

So far so good, site settings access error fixed!
by apluspcct on Aug 17, 2014 at 6:55 PM
I am happy with this release. All test and production web sites upgraded successfully. The bot registering has stopped on effected site since upgrade, nice having a day without bot crap.

Upgrade from 7.1.1 and extensions are no longer available ( Big changes in skin Gravity generate a lot of work if it's customized :-(
by kaetz on Aug 31, 2014 at 11:56 AM
Upgraded from 6.2.5 through 6.2.8 > 7.2.2 > 7.2.3. Immediately lost the ability to edit pages, 'add module' panel never appears. Reverted to previous version to wait for dev team to get their s**t sorted.
by MartyNZ on Aug 27, 2014 at 3:12 AM
I'd recommend you check that is installed otherwise extensionless urls (such as service framework requests - which the control panel uses) wont work. Also, please ensure you're not using an old unsupported panel -

After upgrading, the update still wants to remove references to .js and I have to put the coding back in so my live tabs modules load content. After this upgrade, object reference not set error codes on numerous pages (couldn't even open the pages). The journal stopped working with .dbo SQL server errors. This update was so bad I had to completely revert back to the previous version. Lots of bugs in this version! Download at your own risk.
by lstrejcek on Aug 15, 2014 at 9:16 PM
please log these as bugs to as without more details we can't debug them (particularly as to date yours is the only report of those issues, which suggests a 3rd party extension may also be implicated)

I never seen any changes on CAPTHCA after upgrade release 7.3.1. I t was Same before and no diffrent looking between 7.3.1 and 7.3.2...! what is different? It should be Logical Capcha and not only Character CAPTCHA. for example asking 3+16 = ? and result should be answer or some better thing like this. I didn't check more things, I hope other problem like "Apply Skin and error happening on site setting" or "not handling skin/container error when there was no file or folder" and .... had been fix... I hope.... 1. No changes for Spam Registration attack 2. New Problem! you can not apply any FavIcon 3. Container on Site Setting not apply for Edit mode
by arminrahimian on Aug 15, 2014 at 7:56 PM
please read "2014-02 (Critical) improve captcha logic & mitigate against automated registration attacks" at for full details - there were a number of captcha fixes, the key one of which was a fix to stop one captcha challenge being used for multiple registration (we also changed the colour range and distortion of the image, but that's a much less important fix)

2sexycontent is not something we ship so I'm not sure why you are marking us down- if you are having problems with it I suggest you contact the vendor

hi, Cathal Was it not expected that in 7.3.2 the google Captcha, which is hard to break, was to be incorporated? we all were waiting for it
by bhattji on Aug 15, 2014 at 9:46 AM
no, that wasn't in our initial plans. After we analysed various logs, we were able to reverse-engineer what the spammers were using and discover the issue with the existing captcha control and fix it, which should resolve almost all the issues. We have a separate task to introduce alternatives to the captcha, but are still considering whether this should be a simple fixed option (e.g. recaptcha), or a larger task to add a captcha provider. This will be considered for a later release.
