Two major problems in this release:
- The FBCache provider in this release is broken, ie, doesn't cache.
- There is a SQL Script error in the upgrade.

These links are constantly timing out. Very annoying.
Have to say MySQL and PHP is so much a better option if your going down the open source route. DNN has no accessibility and is highly unstable - embarrassing for a .net technology.

it crashes after selecting the skins (no skins available) with an error. Please someone release a new 100% working version. This is embarrasing for .NET world. keep eyes open PHP is gaining terrain

My first recommendation is to back up your SQL Database and ALL of the files in your DNN IIS Folder. Why? Because it is always good practice to do so, and you'll need to restore them after attempting this upgrade. I've done the DNN upgrades MANY times and this one just doesn't work. Perhaps I was just having a bad day or perhaps they were focused on DNN 5. Remember, backup your current config
