I downloaded the VSI starter kit. In both VS 2005 and VS 2008, I get errors that files are missing. The "blog" and "spellchecker" files seem to be missing.

I have upgraded two websites and build a new website based on this 4.9.4 and everything has worked out fine, one thing I learned was to never install all purchase or free modules that I have come to like as those could result in breaking the solution in ways that i cannot figure out so i keep modules out only if i need them.

Thanks, much better than the last release. There is an bug in the install wizard - when entering the administrator details, the portal alias is committed whether the form entry succeeded or failed. So if you make an mistake on that screen (i.e. passwords not matching), you need to clear the PortalAlias table before you can go any further with the wizard.

I've used DNN since version 1, and it keeps going downhill. Increased bloat, sloppy, sloppy coding, and minimal support makes development usage difficult. Don't expect anything to work on install without error. There are very common installation and configuration bugs that have been live, known bugs for years without update. Much of this could be cleaned up by some QC or a PM worth their salt.

Well-architected, tons of features out of the box, powerful, and infinitely flexible
