After installing the starter kit, wen i select the template, suddenly i get a gazillion errors indicating xxxxx files missing. I have no idea how to deal with it

Files are missing from the starter kit zip file. I did a manual install and now I get an error message stating that it cannot register something related to the default skin. I really wanted to work with this version. I love DNN, but I am very disappointed.

evidenced from the 5.02.02 to the 5.3.1 problems solved 5.2.2 to 5.4 update. is good, more your own modules work correctly, that stopped working AddModuleMessage messages (.)

Guys, seriously, I'm a HUGE fan of DotNetNuke, but the attention to detail lately has not been very good on these releases. When you release something you should definitely not leave the words "Alpha Version" in the code that renders that text in the browser's title bar.....this is pretty simple attention to detail. I don't like to complain because it's open source and free, but come on!

I've tried to move ver. 5.2 from ASP.NET 2 to ASP.NET 4 - most of functionalities don't work. Then tried to upgrade site 5.2 to 5.4 (on ASP.NET 4) – upgrade process was successful but site doesn’t work . Then tried fresh install 5.4 on ASP.NET 4 - site doesn’t work properly - there are problems with e.g. Repository Dashboard, Help categories (cannot select category for tutorial) and more…

Upgrade package doen't work ( 4.9 --> 5.4 ) ! 2 days of works , and nothing works . this not a professional works !

I've had a dedicated DNN server for many years. I test versions ending in .0 or .1 on staging servers but I don't generally implement anything before .2. These early releases serve a helpful purpose of maturation and I'm glad to contribute in testing and reporting issues. I'd advise community members to understand these processes and be wise about when to deploy a version to production.

Love DNN, but.... If you are now charging $ for the "Pro" version, then you are not anymore an open source company, and all the upgrade problems that the 5.x version has had are not allowed anymore for a paid product. The company then MUST became "Pro" too. It is not possible that you cannot even upgrade from a previous version or even WORST that some people LOST their sites/data.

This is a good try to implement content localization and i recommend in conent localization to take the approach for making every module has a localization variable to define in which locale it will be rendered, but for this release its considered to be VERY Buggy, also the form and list module has problems the search box doesn'tshow !?

Great new functionality, I'm happy with the progress in the core framework! But, as mentioned by others, some effort in making the upgrade package work would be advisable. I haven't been able to upgrade to either 5.3.0, 5.3.1 or 5.4.0 as all of the upgrade packages will totally crash my sites.

I upgraded my Parent Portal with Child Portals to 5.4.0 . This went well, but on some pages I had some error messages (couldn't create instance of object). But the worst thing was that one Child Portal was completely vanished. Had to go back to previous install.

I am rating this release by an upgrade standpoint. In the case of DNN 5.4 testing clearly fell short of the goal. A new install is great. An upgrade is nothing short of a mess. SERIOUS ADVICE: do not upgrade if you like your site. If you want your site to crash, then you should definately upgrade... next please. ***Disclaimer: I LOVE DOTNETNUKE! I just don't like DNN 5.4 because it broke my site.

We have upgrade from 04.09.03 alle Steps green and ok. Website display an Error. We see that the Telerik.Web.UI.dll is not included in Upgrade 05.04.00 btu we have copied this from install package. The Second Error brings our Portal-Test-Installation down with the Error. For Each objTab In PortalSettings.ActiveTab.BreadCrumbs
