DotNetNuke gets a revamped logo but puts out the same old crap.

I'm seeing some problem behavior with the "+" icon expand behaviors and the hide/show on the IconBar panel at the top. Thank you for enlarging the "Pages" window. It helps, but it's still not enough. That section needs a UI redesign. It becomes very unwieldy on large sites with long page names and deep page hierarchies.

The installation was terrible. It was indeed my worst experience with DNN since DNN 3. The SQL script somehow refused to run no matter what I tried. I thought it was my computer, but as I moved down to older version (5.02.02), finally it worked.

There are some outstanding bugs, but none of them are show stoppers in this release (for me). Great release, and it's only getting better!

Menu Navigation has disappeared unless signed in as Admin/Super Host Settings Error too: Error: Host Settings is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException:

The upgrade/telerik DLL's missing is by design (please consult for further info). The source version works fine (must be a users environmental problem). My sites upgrade fine. Only hitch was that registration got disabled which is easily solved afterwards by going to Admin -> Site Settings and changing the registration page to "None Specified".

The install went without problem. However if the media is not fast enough the install will fail. The script timeout is pretty fast. I have failed on two installs (544 and 542) because of sript timeout. It looks good and runs fine all the way around. Great Job.

Just tried a 5.4.4 upgrade to my 5.4.2 dev install. Upgrade seems to run fine, but there are still problems around page management.

Just upgraded DNN 5.2.3 and DNN 5.3.1 sites on shared hosting and several 5.4.2 test and development sites on localhost to 5.4.4, and did a new test install of 5.4.4 source - all without issues.

I tried the Source but it didn't worked for me, gave this error: Server Error in '/DNN544_VB' Application. -----Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Line 123: Dim Request As HttpRequest = app.Request Line 125: If Request.Url.LocalPath.ToLower.EndsWith("scriptresource.axd") _

The upgrade installation does not include the Telerik dll's! Somewhere along the line of upgrades they are added. I upgraded from 5.2.3. Had to uninstall this one and restore old site and upgrade to 5.3.0, then 5.3.1, then 5.4.4.

5.4.3 worked great for me, now I'm going to upgrade my sites to 5.4.4 and see even better stuff! @Mediaworksnz you can upgrade straight from 542 to 544

Upgraded to 543 with a pile of awful errors. This release is so much better. Thanks. I also have the page management issues back again. They appear to be triggered when you have 6 or more parent menu nodes with several of these having child menus. Then all hell breaks lose for my sites! See Gemini Media module is great.

blondie63: works fine for me. Check if your DB is not messed up. I had some record in table Tabs that had Level = -1. I've updated those records so Level is now 0 and everything is fine. Thank you guys, great work!

I installed version 5.4.3 and had no problems. But I rather not have a version installed with two major bugs in it, so I upgraded all my production sites to version 5.4.4 without any hickups. Excellent work!

I can confirm: the ExecuteSQL is a thing of the past. The upgrade installed nicely and the Silverlight galleries (which use DAL+) were running like always. Reinstallation of iWeb ran without a glitch. Well done!

Hi, where is DNN 5.4.3? I can only see DNN 5.4.2 and 5.4.4. I have DNN 5.4.2 and need to fix the page management problem, I understand this is fixed in DNN 5.4.3. Or can I upgrade from 5.4.2 to 5.4.4 (and skip 5.4.3)?

If anyone would like to contribute to DNN the QA team is looking for volunteers

Admin/Pages does'nt work well ! i've found problems on list of pages structure and moving pages from one level to another !
by blondie63 on Jun 28, 2010 at 10:19 PM
Successfully installed and updated to the latest DNN version without problems... but, to be honest at this moment i´m not sure what to think about DNN and after all the failures from the lasts months i advice everyone to wait a couple of days until update to see if everyone agrees with me about this "stable" version. In any case this one it looks to be a fixed release, good job DNN !!!
