NOTE: Please log any issues you may find to

Telerik Update

The original 7.3.3 had an issue with the Telerik package which created broken links in the RadEditor. The Telerik Update package is a standard DNN extension which installs an updated Telerik assembly to resolve the issue. You will need to ensure the MaxRequestLength in web.config is increased to 13500 or larger prior to installing the update (you can lower the value once the package is installed).

Telerik Update 2

All of the DNN 7.3.3 packages now include the updated Telerik package. If your install of DNN 7.3.3 includes the Telerik 7.3.0 package then you should install the 7.3.4 package shown above. If Telerik 7.3.4 is already installed then you should be running the latest version. If in doubt just re-install the 7.3.4 package and choose to do a "repair" installation if asked.

We are working to fix this for the 7.3.4 release. We ran out of time in the 7.3.3 cycle to get this resolved. This should be related to which you can use to track the progress and then test in the nightly build.

Telerik editor appears to be broken. Hyperlinks are now marked up like this: <span class="__telerik_marker __telerik_marker_start"></span>text<span class="__telerik_marker__telerik_marker_end"></span>. Worked fine in v07.03.01 and v07.03.02. Submitted as issue: DNN-5950.

Thanks for catching that issue. We are working to issue a new Telerik library which will resolve this issue. We hope to have it out in the next week or so. The new Telerik update is now available for download.

thanks for great release.

I think I am having the same HTML module issues, but not sure. I can update an href link and preview it and everything looks good. I can save it, but when I go back to the updated page, the old link is still there. If I go back into HTML edit I see the change is still there. I can also go into the SQL HtmlText table and see the revision I made and the href link is correct. I also tried clearing cache and have even restarted IIS. Soooo... to upgrade Telerik do I goto extentions and update the HTML module or do I goto Provider and update the Telerik Editor Provider (which says it is version 5.6.3)? Thanks. Dave Cline

We are also having problems with the HTML editor. This was a clean install of dnn7.3.3. I installed the editor upgrade, but it made no difference - we still can't create hyperlinks. This renders the cms basically unusable. Update - thanks for that - unfortunately I was too far into development to start again with a fresh install. However installing the Telerik fix a second time and setting it to 'repair' did the trick - thanks!

Can you download the latest 7.3.3 and try another clean install. We repackaged 7.3.3 yesterday with the new fix which solves the problem in all our test scenarios.

better: performance problems (RAM) seems solved. Still unable to add contents to page (bug fixed in next release, it seems)

We are having major issues with the text editor. The text editor is the single most important and essential basic function of a CMS and it appears that 7.3.3 has broken the ability to create links and added images and documents. I installed the telerik 7.3.4 update but that didn't fix it. Anyone else have luck?
by ajy on Oct 15, 2014 at 8:40 PM
I have seen some reports that the Telerik update is not installing correctly. Try doing a second install and make sure to choose the repair install option.

Love the community contributions! Look forward to the telerik HTML editor updates. CAPTCHA needs more noise, or possibly a way to put a question like the following that needs to be answered: What character do you put at the end of a question? ANSWER: ? And a way to put accepted answers allowing you to make your own question with an answer that a bot would not know for every website. I tried putting an extra field that would need filled out in the registration but it didn't seem to do anything because the bot just simply would not fill that out and still be able to register. Another suggestion is asking the user to enter the CAPTCHA characters from left to right since most bots would enter right to left.... or what are the last 3 characters and if a bot enters all or the first three it is wrong. I went through my IIS logs and found these IP ranges doing the most damage as of now: - & - Blocking them tonight to see if it makes a difference. I opened up C:\inetpub\logs\LogFiles\ and browsed for anything having to do with "Register" using the Find and Find Next search features in notepad. Then added Firewall IP Ranges

I can't create a hyperlink. If to remove the old reference, on its place it is possible to create.

having issues with this release and opening pages up to various security roles. I have a very large project that we've kept under secure login while under development. I now need to open up to a few people/roles for review. when I copy permissions to descendants that appears to work, but it doesn't show the pages for the user once logged in still. In short security roles for new or registered users is not working. I tried upgrading from 7.3.2 to 7.3.3 in hopes it would fix it but not happening. Any suggestions here? Very concerned given the scope and size of the project... now what? Thanks.

I am experiencing a Deja-vú. Something that was supposedly fixed before, came back in version 7.3.x. Please go to OR and this is exactly what is happening to me. Changing the settings directly in the database will not affect anything in DNN´s UI, when saving from DNN´s UI, it will overwrite the settings in the DB with wrong values (the ones by default)

Good to see some fixes I am waiting for. Still some problems in HTML editor, but much better than before.

Upgrade was smooth without any errors reported... But, my installation has gone slow, delayed page loads, and the standard text editor is on occasion not saving the edits... Inline editing is gone in IE11, and in Chrome inline editing works, but saving an inline edit is kind of challenging, clicking, clicking, deeeelaaay, saved. Any ideas to solve this delayed experience highly appreciated...

update went smooth and no errors. @team: good job, thanks. but: facing the same issue "Profile photo issue in 7.3.2"

I seem to never be able to install an upgrade. This time, this one fails on updating the database for the messaging module. The upgrade never completed, though my site say it is now 7.3.3. It may be just my bad luck, but it seems upgrading is always a huge pain in the neck.

BTW,EmailVerifier should be apart of autentification process. Now there have been totally dozens of attempts to register to dnn with a poor or blacklist email address. This is very harmful for other users and has hazardous effects for total system. anyone can now send emails or messages and damage the whole community workspace. Remember that never aloud anybody to login without verifying his/her email address that it is real and belongs to user and don't forget to send message forward to that email address. when it happens this attempt should be logged with ip for ip filtering system for later use. And it works!

I have upgraded a few sites to this version. I noticed a marked lag when using the install wizard versions the stripped down option. When I use the wiard the UI seems to get hung up during the installs of the individual module updates such as the DDRMenu. As an example I upgraded my test site in about 45 seconds using the =upgrade method. The Wizard took a duplicate of the site 3.5 minutes to upgrade. Not that its a huge deal as 3 minutes is by no means bad, but I question why the disparity between the 2 methods. Perhaps a UI/UX Wizard issue?

I have an issue where folder and files does not show up in dotnetnuke Radeditor provider media manager in 7.3.3 when PortalRoot is chosen as root. If I choose an subfolder everything works.

I'm Really Confuse! Because The Very Important Security Things like (Change CAPTCHA Protocol to logical one) for control 20-30 Spam Registration per day not Fixed in this Issue yet...!!! When it will important for DNN team? Isn't important? It's my big question, that WHY IT IS NOT IMPORTANT TO FIX?
by arminrahimian on Oct 1, 2014 at 9:46 PM
I understand the concern about SPAM Registrations. We have made some changes to the built in registration process which tightened things down, and reviewed the changes that have been proposed by community members. In the end, there hasn't been an effective solution found for this issue. We'll continue investigating possible solutions and working with the community to craft a more comprehensive approach to dealing with the issue.
